Blog 5: Hope

Hello everyone!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope you are well and warm because it is definitely a cold month ( and I thought December was cold 😂 )! Today’s topic is Hope.

Hope is a thing a lot of us have lost during this pandemic. I know that we all have been hoping that this pandemic would be over a long time ago but it’s still going. We’ve been through a lot. During the world wide shutdown, to all the school outbreaks, and to a lot of stores closing because they don’t have a lot of business or enough workers. I am here today to tell you to still have hope. We can still be the nation we were 3 years ago. Ever since Covid 19 started, I feel like we are not “one nation under God”. It feels like we’ve been split into two. I know, I understand. You want to go out and see your friends and family without worrying about putting on a mask or social distancing. We can do that again. We will do that again.

In the book of Jeremiah, chapter 29, verse 11 says: “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” ( NIV translation ) Some of you have been crying and asking why God, why would you let such a harmful virus come and kill so many people? This is in God’s plan. Nothing happens without His approval. It says right here (plans to prosper you and not to harm you) God doesn’t want to harm you, He wants to prosper you. I believe God has let this virus come to wake up the people. To give them a chance to know Him. To OPEN our eyes!!! He is trying to make you one of his own! To call you His son or daughter! America I’m asking you to WAKE UP!!! This is not the time to be pointing fingers saying she is not staying in the house, he left his house to meet with friends, and blah blah blah! All of us have a part in this. I know for sure that you all have not stayed in your house these past 3 years completely. Certainly, some of you have probably not been wearing your mask. If you have, Covid cases wouldn’t be shooting up like this. So, I’m asking you to please wear masks if you want to come out and if there’s no reason for you to leave the house then please stay home. Let’s get over this virus, so we can be “one nation under God” again.

I also believe God has let this virus come to make us stay in our homes and be with our families more. Please I’m asking you. Really think about this … when’s the last time you and your family shared a meal together, or just had a movie night or board game night? America, I’m telling you that I only believe this virus has come because of 2 reasons. To make you realize whose the One true and Almighty God and to spend time with your family in your household. That you need to stop hanging out with your friends all the time and spend time with your loved ones. To slow down and hangout with your family. To take a break and maybe do something fun with your siblings. Now don’t get me wrong here. I’m not saying don’t go hangout with your friends, I’m just saying not as often. Of course with this virus we can’t really hangout as much. The next part of the verse says “call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” If you are scared and worried, seek Him.
