Blog 37: Fruits of the Spirit (Part 8): Faithfulness

Hey Friends! HAPPY WORD WEDNESDAY!!! It is November which means Thanksgiving is around the corner!! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. What about you? Today we are going to talk about the last and final fruit of the spirit, FAITHFULNESS. I am so exited. Our series is coming to an end but we learned much. Haven’t we? Let’s get started!

What does faithfulness mean? It means, “the fact or quality of being true to one’s word or commitments, as to what one has pledged to do, professes to believe, etc”. Just in case you don’t get the meaning, I don’t either sometimes, let me give you an example. Say you are in the middle of dinner and your mom gets a call. Your mom is a doctor ,and a patient needs some help. She has to go back to the office but there are several dishes that need to be cleaned. She asks you to clean them for her before she gets back home. Your mom has FAITH in you that you will do the dishes. You say “Yes ma’am”, “I will”, “Okay Mom”, etc. Now, if you are a faithful person you will be TRUE to your WORD or COMMITMENT and do what you PLEDGED or said you would do. Now that we know what it means, do you think having faithfulness is good? I sure do because I want people to trust me or have FAITH in me. Whatever and whenever people ask me to do something or tell me to do something me, it will get done. That will not only show them I have a good character about myself ,but it will allow them to see Jesus through you. Don’t you believe God is faithful? When He said, He was going to flood the earth, what did He do? Flood the earth. When He said He would send the Messiah, did He? He did. God is faithful. It says it in His word! He is our example. Let’s have faithfulness like God together! Part of the verse 1 Corinthians 1:9 it says, “God is faithful”. Which is very true GYB family. What do you think?

Today we are NOT doing a Bible story ,but a parable Jesus told. It’s called “The Parable of the Three Servants.” You can find this parable in the book of Matthew, chapter 25, verses 15-30 ,but I will point out certain ones. Let me give you some back story before we get to the point of why I wanted to share this parable. A man was going away and he called on his three workers so they can take care of his money. He gave one worker 5 talents, 2 talents to another, and the last one got one talent. Talents in those times was a word for money. While the man was gone the workers did things. The one with 5 talents, verse 16, “Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents”. The one with the most talents did a good thing. He had the 5 talents and traded the same of it and made twice of what he originally had. 10 talents! Think the owner would be happy? Yes! The one with 2 talents, verse 17, “And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.” He also increased what his boss gave him , which was a good thing! The third person however, not so much, verse 18,”But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money”. That wasn’t so smart, was it? He didn’t go out and earn more money for his master. He decided to not too ,and in the end he is going to show his master he can’t be trusted. His master will lose his trust in the worker. The master eventually comes back and he is very happy with the two who earned twice as much. He said to the first 2, verse 21, "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” He said to the worker who hid the one talent, part of 26 and fully 27 and 28,“Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.” I have a question for you. When your life is over and you are standing before God at Heaven’s gates, do you want Him say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant” or do you want Him to say, “You wicked and slothful servant”. Do you want God to TAKE his faith in you away, like it says in verse 28? Let’s STRIVE TOGETHER to be FAITHFUL so God can use us! Let’s show others we can be trusted!! Let’s be FAITHFUL!

Today’s quote is VERY meaningful and meaning felt. It is by godrooted.com. “Where there is hope, there is faith. Where there is faith, miracles happen.” It’s a PROCESS. If you have hope you surely have faith. If you have faith or will be faithful, miracles happen. You will be BLESSED in the Lord’s sight when you do right, it says in the Bible. The 2 workers who worked and traded the money had faith. They were also faithful. TRUE to keeping the money safe. Then MIRACLES happened. They got MORE money. Twice as much! I don’t know what miracle will happen in your life if you will be a faithful person. What I do know, is that you will be BLESSED more than you will imagine. Be kind, have patience, love others, have peace, show gentleness, have self-control, show goodness, and most of all show FAITHFULNESS!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING!!! I LOVE ❤️ you guys!! I pray for you all on a regular bases. Have an awesome weekend and I’ll see you next Wednesday. ✌🏽❤️✌🏽
