Blog 3: Armor 🛡 of God
Hello! It’s me Sarai and welcome back to Word Wednesday! Today’s topic is “Armor of God“. The armor of God is to keep us protected from head to toe from the Devil. There is 6 parts of armor. 1. Belt of Truth ,2. Breastplate of Righteousness ,3. Feet Fitted with the Gospel of Peace ,4. Shield of Faith , 5. Helmet of Salvation , and 6. Sword of the Spirit – The Word of God. Let’s find out a little information about each piece of armor.
In the book of Ephesians, chapter 6, verses 11-17 says “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” God wants us to be covered with armor so when we are going through tough times and through the Devil’s attacks we will be armed.
The first piece of armor is “The Belt of Truth”. It means staying true to God’s word and not the world. The truth helps us to believe what God says is right or wrong, not the world’s judgement. This world doesn’t know everything but God’s word is EVERYTHING.
The second piece of armor is “The Breastplate of Righteousness”. To be righteous means to be trustworthy, modest, and generous. When people who are younger or maybe even older than you are being treated unfairly you should stand up for them. Maybe you feel like you are not brave enough or you are too shy but God will give you power. The Holy Spirit is living inside of you, but the question is will you activate it? Will you ask for its guidance?
The third piece of armor is “Feet Fitted with the Gospel of Peace”. It means being in alliance with God. When trouble times come your first thought is to go to the comfort of God’s word. You are NOT like everyone else . You are SPECIAL. When you are upset and angry go to God. Some things that you should Not go to or do are social media, throwing things, yelling at people, giving people the silent treatment, ( I have done it before. ) ect. If you have the Peace of God and others don’t maybe you should share the love of god with them. Jesus says in the Bible “Peacemakers are BLESSED“.
The fourth piece of armor is “The Shield of Faith”. To believe God means to have faith that he will carry out his promises. When you have faith it keeps you covered and not make you hesitate. Never doubt God’s promises. He always keeps them even though it may take a while.
The fifth piece of armor is “The Helmet of Salvation”. The Helmet of Salvation means accepting Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again. God LOVES you and DIED for you. He wants to take care of you and guide you in your life. He has already made the path for your life. Will you follow it?
The sixth piece and last piece of armor is “The Sword of the Spirit”. The Bible is are offensive sword. When we share the love of God and the word with others it makes people see their wrong doings, bad habits, ect. It has them wish to be pardoned.
This week I want us to memorize these verses to help us in the time of battle. Also, I want us to intentionally use the armor of God with our “enemies“ ( the Devil in disguise ) Thank you so much for reading!!!
