Blog 30: Fruits of the Spirit Series (Part 3): Love

Hey Believers!!! How are you doing? We are on BLOG POST 30! Can you believe it?! I hope you enjoyed last week’s post on Mental Health, by our amazing guest speaker!! Today’s post is on the fruit of the spirit love.

The third fruit we need to be like Jesus and to live for Him is love. We should have LOVE and give LOVE. Out of all the fruits of the spirit this is one of my favorite ones. What is the meaning of love, you might wonder? The dictionary defines it as -an intense feeling of deep affection. I can think of a few people in my life who I have deep affection for. My sister, my parents, my grandparents, my friends, but above all God. I love my family. I want to SHOW them love. It’s okay to love our families and our close friends but we should love God above all. Why? Well, think about it. He died for us, He is constantly doing things in our lives, we can always talk to him no matter the time of day, etc. God shows us love. So, how can we show others love? Maybe by helping them, doing their chores, saying encouraging words to them, etc. Let’s show LOVE!

What is true love? The Bible defines it perfectly. 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 says, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Believers, one thing I get from this is that all the fruits work together. To love, you need patience. To love, you also need kindness. Love does not “envy”, or hate others. It does not “boast” about all of their accomplishments, and all the things they can do. Love is not easily getting upset either. It doesn’t remember the things done wrong by them ( us). That is my understanding of this verse. What does it mean to you? If you really love your sibling or a close friend, when they do something wrong to you, you won’t easily get upset. That’s showing and having true love for a person. If a sibling, a cousin, or even a friend has done wrong to you in the past, when they do wrong to you again you won’t remember. Why? You won’t remember because you showed true love by forgiving them. You didn’t keep “no record of wrongs”. When you do wrong, God won’t shove it in your face, He’ll show you kindness. He’ll forgive you. He will show you LOVE! He will NOT keep a record of your wrong doings. One more reason why we should love others is this. 1 John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us.” Have you heard of Naomi and Ruth from the Bible? Maybe or maybe not. Whether you have or haven’t, I think we all should know this story. They display LOVE in a remarkable way.

❤️BIBLE STORY ❤️ 〰️

In the this part of the story Naomi’s sons have died. Her daughter in law Ruth was married to a son of hers. She told Ruth and the other daughter in law to go back home and live with their mothers. Ruth 1:16-17 says, “But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” Verse 17, “where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”

Ruth loved her mother in law so much that she wouldn’t leave her. She said it doesn’t matter where you choose to live or wander. I must go too. Whatever God you serve I will. Whoever is “your people will be my people”. She said a lot more. She loved Naomi. Ruth had TRUE, PURE LOVE for her. Can you imagine how Naomi felt after hearing that? Maybe loved, cared for, etc.

Let’s LOVE others. Let’s show them so much LOVE that they most DEFINITELY know they are cared for!! Go out and spread LOVE ❤️ !!! My motto and quote for this series is this, “Show them Jesus by following HIS actions 😉 “. GIVE LOVE and HAVE LOVE!! HAVE A GREAT WEEK BELIEVERS!!!! See you next week 😊😊!!! Love you ❤️❤️all. By now most of you know how I say bye… ✌🏽✌🏼✌🏽
