Blog 21: Fear and Anxiety

Hello, Young Believers! Happy Word Wednesday! My name is Lyle Gladney but most call me LJ. I am one of Sarai’s Beta Club friends. I was very kindly asked to be a guest speaker and I accepted of course. I had to pray for a few days but I found a topic. But before we continue something you should know about me. I prefer to use the Hebrew names for God instead of their English translation so please don’t be thrown off when you see me use them.

Today we will be talking about Fear & Anxiety. Have you ever been afraid or anxious? Do you have any phobias? I think everyone has at least one phobia and everyone can get a little anxious at times.

Where does anxiety come from? Anxiety stems from an absence of faith in our Elohim(God), as unbelief gets the upper hand in our hearts. Much anxiety, Yashua (Jesus) says, comes from little faith.

If this is the case then how do we fight against Anxiety and Fear? We fight sinful fears and anxieties by fighting against unbelief and fighting for faith in Elohim's continuous Grace toward us. The way we fight this “good fight” is by meditating on YA’s (God) many and rich promises to us and by asking for the help of his Spirit The Ruach HaKodesh (The Holy Spirit).

One important thing to keep in mind is that it’s okay to be Afraid or Anxious. Even Yashua was Anxious. In Matthew 26:39 it says “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” So as you can see even Yashua was a little anxious about dying on the cross. Nevertheless he said, “As thou wilt.” This means that you can be afraid but don’t let that affect what you’ve been called to do or disturb your faith in YA.

So to recap, Anxiety comes from a lack of faith. The way to fight against that is to pray and read your Bible. It’s okay to be afraid but it’s what you do during and after the fact that counts.

I hope this post helped you feel better about your Fear and Anxiety. I really enjoyed writing this post and I hope that everybody who read this post is in good health and feeling well. Thank you for reading. Until next time. Fair well!
