Blog 82: NOT a Battlefield

Hey hey, GYB fam!

It’s been a hot minute since we last came together as the body of Christ to fuel our souls, BUT God has placed a powerful message on my heart that YOU need to hear! It’s going to be brief, but it’s going to fuel you spiritually and give you an UPGRADE in discernment that you didn’t even know you needed. I pray that today’s message sets you FREE.

Today's Topic: "NOT a Battlefield"

When we leave the house, some of us carry pepper spray, a pocket knife, or another form of self-defense—something to keep us safe from potential dangers. But spiritually, we also prepare for battle. We put on the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Belt of Truth, the Sword of the Spirit, and the Gospel of Peace. Why? Because we know that when we step outside, we are stepping onto the battlefield. We are surrounded by darkness—things unlike God and His Kingdom.

The enemy comes for three specific reasons:

  1. To steal.

  2. To kill.

  3. To destroy.

And I want to remind you today, child of God, that even you can grow weak and weary.

When we step outside, we are called to be the light on a hill that cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). When we leave our homes, we are on assignment. But our homes should be different.

Our homes should be a place of rest, peace, joy, and confidence. Yet for some of us, our homes have become a battlefield.

Some of you didn’t catch that, so let me say it again: Your home should not be a battlefield.

Think about it—at school or work, there’s always that one person or group that doesn’t like you. That’s a battlefield.
On your football team or in your theater group, there’s someone who resents you because of your talent. That’s a battlefield.
Out in the world, we expect to wear the armor of God because we know we are at war.

But at home? Home should be a safe space.

You don’t carry pepper spray or a pocket knife when walking around your house because you trust that you’re safe. So why are some of us still wearing spiritual armor at home? Make it make sense, children of God.

The enemy is attacking families. He is attacking bonds. And I need you to understand something:

Some of you have predators in your own home.

The devil is coming after family relationships, and I am calling on you to tear his kingdom down.

It stops TODAY.

Go get some oil. If you don’t have oil, get water. Every single wall in your home needs to be covered. No space goes untouched tonight. It’s time to remind the devil of his place. He has no authority here. Not in your home, not in your mind, and certainly not on your doorstep. He has roamed free long enough—now it’s time to lock him out.

Dip your finger in oil or water and mark a cross on every wall.

Why me? you might be wondering.

Because if you don’t fight for your home, your family, and your peace—who will?

Now, say this out loud, in a strong, clear, and confident voice as you mark your walls:

"I rebuke you in the name of Jesus. You have no place here. You are NOT welcome in my home. My God is a God of peace, love, joy, and rest, and you will no longer steal my peace, kill my joy, or destroy my rest. I will NOT be armored ON campus. This is my space of rejuvenation, and you have lived here for too long. I rebuke your tactics and your influence over me and my family in the name of Jesus. MY HOME IS NOT A BATTLEFIELD!"

I love you, and I want you to know this: You are going to MAKE IT through. Because your house is built on the firm foundation of God.

💙 GYB fam, let’s take back our homes. It starts NOW.
