Blog 79: A Good Farmer

Hey hey GYB Fam! I hope you are having an AMAZING šŸ¤© šŸ˜» šŸ¤©  summer! It isnā€™t my favorite season but I do appreciate the sunshine! Todayā€™s post is called, ā€œA Good Farmerā€. Ready, setā€¦ LEMME HEAR YOU SAY ā€œJESUSā€!!!

Most farmers start to plant at the beginning of March and end sometime in September. Today, whether you live in the suburbs, in the city, or anywhere else where, TODAY, for the next ten or so minutes, you are a farmer.

Before a farmer can plant seeds into the ground, he must make sure he has good soil. Then a tractor goes all around the field using the planter to put seeds into the ground. After that over a season of weeks you water the plants and allow the sunlight to do its thing. Depending on what you have planted, after a month or so, your crops should be ready to be cleaned, cooked or eaten raw depending on what you made, and ready to eat!

As Children of God we are all farmers in a way. Farmers go through a process of steps to growing crops for enjoyment and selling. As Children of God we go through something called life. Sometimes we make choices to do things whether thatā€™s trying out a new artist and seeing if you like there music. Or going to a party or hanging with a certain group of people. Before you can plant something, you have to decide what youā€™re planting. Over a period of time you invest into what you planted or in other words, decided to do. That can be listening to more songs by that artist, doing activities with those new people, or attending more parties.

After a while of doing this these things, you are able to notice was it a good decision or not. Just how a farmer is able to notice after a few weeks if his crops are doing well. When a farmer comes near his crops and goes onto his knees, he is able to see the condition his crops are in. Whether they are ready to come out of the dirt and be cleaned for cooking, baking, and/or eating. After trying something out of the norm for a few weeks, you can notice some changes in yourself. Whether they are healthy or not.

You probably have made some unhealthy choices in life. But guess what?!? THATā€™S FINE. You didnā€™t have nine lives like a cat lol. You have one and you are living in it right now. You arenā€™t always going to have it all together. Life is a journey and mishaps will happen.

You just might want to be a teen who is living a life Jesus would be proud but you feel you are always making mistakes. Maybe planting the wrong crop or taking it out too early. When you fall down and mess up, donā€™t get back up right away. Stay down. Heal before you keep going because if you keep going without healing, you are just saving trauma to deal with later on in life.

Pastor Dharius Daniels once said, ā€œItā€™s hard to be what you have never seenā€. You might never have seen a teen on fire for Jesus the way you want to be. AND THATā€™S FINE. Donā€™t be hard on yourself. You are learning more each and every day. Ask trusted Christian adults to tell you their teen hood stories. Some people would be more than happy to tell you about their lessons learned and faults. They can be a help to who you want to become because they have seen it, done it, and all. Your biggest example and the best example though is Jesus! God can be everything you need and more.

As you go through this process of planting, and growing your crops, and digging them up, cleaning, etc etc etc, have a good mindset. Be positive. Have a good guide such as the Bible to help you think more like Jesus. Ask Jesus to direct your footsteps. Psalm 119:105 says, ā€œThy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.ā€. (KJV)

Donā€™t be too hard on yourself. You are growing and maturing like everyone else. Your peers might seem like theyhave it all together but behind close doors they are as messed up as you. Jesus loves you and cares for you NO MATTER WHAT.

I love you guys and hope this post touched a heart or more!

Sending my love, my prayers, and all of the above,

Sarai ā¤ļøšŸ„°ā¤ļø
